¡Dormir bien!

"Do you have trouble falling asleep, sleep poorly, or wake up tired? Discover how you can sleep better with the best science-based natural ingredients. Sleep problems affect 40-50% of the population across all strata and ages. Surprisingly, they occur more frequently in older people and are 2 times more common in women than in men."

Cycles
The sleep cycle can be divided into 5 stages. Each night, the sleep cycle is completed 4 to 5 times. The distinction between the phases of each cycle is based on brain activity and eye movement, referred to as "Eye Movement." In the first 4 phases, the eye movement is slow, which is called Non-Rapid Eye Movement (NREM) phases. In the 5th and final phase, the eye movement is rapid, so this phase is called Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep.

Natural aids for sleeping
There are several natural sleeping pills that effectively act against sleep problems. The advantage is that they are not addictive and have very few side effects. The downside is that many remedies need to be tried and that oral intake is not very effective. Only about ±15% of the substances reach their destination (the bloodstream).

Oral route versus transdermal route
The big difference: oral (pills) versus transdermal (patch) Nutritional supplements are usually taken orally. Scientific research shows that oral intake creates a "first-pass effect." This means that the body breaks down approximately 85% of the substances ingested through, among others, the intestines, kidneys, and liver. This is known as a 15% bioavailability. In other words, only about 15% enters the bloodstream and is therefore actively effective.
